Van Hughes wrote, composed and starred in SPACE DOGS at MCC Theatre in NYC with Nick Blaemire (2022). He most recently appeared on Broadway in the musical version of Almost Famous. Van starred in Green Day's American Idiot on Broadway opposite Billie Joe Armstrong and led the US Tour. Other Broadway credits include Deaf West’s Spring Awakening, 9 to 5 and Hairspray. He starred in the Ballad of Johnny and June as John Carter Cash (directed by Des MacAnuff) at La Jolla Playhouse (San Diego, CA) and the Citadel Theatre (Edmonton, Canada) in 2025. He appeared in both Sex and the City films, Rachel Getting Married and guest-starred on Law & Order: SVU, Royal Pains, and One Life To Live as well as many commercials and even voice-overs for Nickelodeon. He has a B.A. in Theatre from Fordham University.
